Where All Ends.

"Water has a calming effect on this Rooster. Water Roosters don’t feel the need to rise above the crowd and their communication skills are more refined. Forever energetic and extremely detail-oriented, these Roosters can benefit from staying more focused on the end result rather than the minute details."

Since I was young I always believe in this horoscope. I am a Water Rooster gal, was born on year 1993.

In 2012, a Year of Rooster person is said to be the STAR of the year. Thus, I'm very confident that 2012 will be an easy year for me and I could get everything I wanted. Fortunately, my 2012 started really good that made me said maybe the horoscope is right. However, not all things turn out to be as good as I expected. In 2012, i had many flaws and been through hardship.

Goodbye 18

I'm now savoring my last hour of being 18.
My 18th year has been so challenging to me.

Allow me to share to you how  it started and will end.

Just like other GALS, turning 18 or as famously known as "Debut" is the most special birthday for the girls because it is the turning point of your teenage life. I dunno why.

so, i celebrated it as luxury as we had.
Hurot2x kwarta sakong pamilya jud, just to realize the so called debut tradition.

I even created a twist of that ceremony like using orchids as alternative of the 18 roses. on the other hand, 18 helium Balloons were used as replacement of 18 candles.

Aftermath, i had my first ever night life i may say.
It started last October 16, 2011

Since then, i used to hang-out with my friends at night.

This year, i would say that I'm beginning to stay late at downtown than usual.
Though my parents would not tolerate me doing such activity, i still continue. hahahah.
I can't even count with my fingers how many times I got home in the morning.

But aside from having night life, my other reason of staying late at the downtown is my responsibilities at school.   that's a good , right? :)

hmmp! so what else new to me in my 18th year?

aha! one of my memorable experience also was my SUMMER 2012.
As usual, i wasn't able to spend my summer in relaxing in a vacation.

Fortunately, i was invited in this LEADERSHIP CAMP

because of this i had a very fruitful summer.
on the other hand, my tito treated us a short vacation at BORACAY before my summer class :)

to make this blog short.
to sum it up, i also had many self proclaim achievements in my 18th year.

I would not discuss it one by one here but for I'm satisfied and contented already of what i got in this year and still counting for my blessings.

forever thankful for my family, friends and my only bestfriend my GOD.
 Our Savior, Jesus Christ.

- Sincerely yours;
Nory Faith Elago Cagatin

HULING SAYAW

HULING SAYAW

DANCESPORT , is a ballroom competition of Modern Standard and Latin dance. Every year, It is one of the most awaited events of Intramurals in Xavier University. It is usually held on the Closing Ceremony of the Intrams.

Ever since I started dancing, it is my ambition to compete and experience this kind of dance. Enable to compete in this kind of dance i must say is a greatest satisfaction of a dancer. wanna know why? because dancesport is for unusual dancer only.  Not everyone knows how to dance this because of its hardness and elegance that's why this kind of dance is only for a competition or in an elegant parties.

It requires patience, discipline and dedication in order to perform this.

September 15, 2012 is the Dancesport competition.

We started practicing 6 days before that competition.
To be honest, it was my worst performance ever in my life. I actually, don't want to perform in that competition if not because for the sake of the Engineering Community.

I signed up Dancesport during the Intramural recruitment in College of Engineering. Together with my Original Partner, we were so excited to dance and compete in the LATIN category.
However, due to my commitments and academics conflict I decided to back out and turn over my partner to another interested girl who is more talented than me.:)  Of course, it is hard for me at first because giving up is really not my attitude but that dilemma was again about choosing between my responsibilities over my passion.

Then, a week before the competition i received a call from my previous partner. Encouraging me to join again but this time in the Modern Standard Category. After a call, many text messages were sent to me pleasing me to continue the battle because they need an entry for that category and there's a big chance of winning in that category because there were 2 entries only.
But waittt....how about the budget? The good news was the mentor also texted me offering his free P.F. for us. So, in that case, i decided to take the risk in joining back.
I was partnered with a 3rd year student and we really did our best to catch up with the steps. Given with 5 days remaining before the competition we really need to double time.

But everything wasn't easy for us. There was time that i felt really bad and pity on myself because we were treated unjust with the other maybe because we are not paying any cent for them. In the end, I found myself crying before the performance because i feel cheated. I don't know what to do already if i will continue to perform given with the fact nga "MAULAW" nako:(

but i still continue ..... and Got the expected 3rd place.

To be fair, i would not say that i regret it because in sum I have learned new dance and gained new experience. More importantly, i got a chance to meet these talented people.

Also, I'm thankful that I have been a student of  Sir Jo and Maam Malou who are famous sa arangan ng  Dancesport .

two points I would not forget from them is that;

"Dance like a swan as if its your last dance." (Sir Jo)
and
"Dance with your Heart not with your Mind" (Maam Malou)

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

KUMBATI ! AJA! KAYANG KAYA! I WILL SURVIVE!

These were my favourite words this semester. Being a 4th year student of Electronics Engineering is really challenging. It’s not because of the difficult subjects we used to have since 1st year but the requirements from different subjects. Meeting of the deadlines of the project I should say is the toughest time. Especially, when you’re teacher will give you a requirement today and will be submitted on the following day. AGAD2x!! Oh c’mon L that isn’t right!! But you cannot complain because that’s part of the responsibilities of a student that they called as CHALLENGE.

In this semester, we had two big group projects. When you say it’s a group project, one can say that it’s easier rather than individual but for me it’s more difficult because for me I can work faster and productive when I am alone doing the work. Perhaps, it is true the saying “no man is an island” however I know that when its group project its undeniable to not have conflicts with your group.

When I’m in a group, I usually initiate all the planning’s for the group. I used to be the one who will start the project (I don’t know why) but I just feel it’s my obligation and maybe that’s innate on me already. Consequently, being the so called the leader of the group is the bearer of the burden always in the group. Why do I say so? Because for me, in times of failure you cannot blame it to your members instead you are responsible to response to it in brighter side just like an opportunity for you to strategies to deal that situationJ.

On the other side, when your group feel hopeless with your project, as a leader you should not show to them that you are also affected otherwise everyone will be pessimistic with your working project. Instead, you need to encourage them and motivate them by setting the fire burning for their passion. (that situation that you cannot show your weaknesses to the people that’s the dilemma of being a leader)
But you know, what’s the worst story in a group project? Ang maki-bagay sa imung groupmates. Because a group is composed of many persons thus you are opt to deal also with different personalities with your group members.
simulating
testing

To be honest I had a tough time dealing with this dilemma. There is this one person in the group of my COM01 and FYP that I cannot get along well. Yes, he might be my friend but there is something about him that I don’t understand now. He seems have changed a lot towards me. I dunno why, but i can feel it that he’s not happy whenever I have done something. Every time I set a schedule he has always an excuse that he can’t help. To make it short, I realized that he don’t like following my plans. L

On the other side, when i’m giving him the chance to lead like asking him what shall we do. He has always the wrong method in planning such as (he want to make it himself only). So I force to understand him however noon hapit na deadline like 2 hours before the deadline, magpatabang na daun ky wala diai nya nahuman pa. This is the most PAAAKK situation I encountered this sem. I mean, “HELLO” this is not individual project you really need to delegate each individual in the group with certain task to realize the project and to be more efficient. My God! STRESSED! That was the situation that I never thought I could handle. Tsk3x

Thanks God, I was able to control myself with the help of prayers. I really prayed that time to give me long patience and Lord let me understand this person. If not because of God and my friends, I don’t really think I can make it.

after  our FYP Defense

In the end, we were able to submit our COM01 project (AM demodulation) and our FYP on time.J

MY SECRET OF BEING HEALTHY

Nowadays, our environment is polluted and sad to say the air we breathe is apparently composed of toxins. This jeopardize our living because this makes us prone from any kind of illness. And i know no one wants to get sick especially those teenager like me. I'm a full-time student, a student leader and part time business woman. It is very important for me to be healthy everyday so that i could comply all my obligations. Thus,  it is important to take vitamins everyday to be protected by any illnesses. There are many kinds of Vitamin C spurting today. However, if you really care of your health you should be also keen of choosing the right one. So let me introduce to you the vitamins I'm taking (take note: not only me, but my whole family). Check this out and find out why I chose rather my family chose to take this kind of vitamin C. Furthermore, why many are saying that I'm a restless and hyper-active teenager. :)

 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vital C Health Products, as a company, wants to produce only the best Vitamin C preparation in the market. With a deep understanding of the characteristics of Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbate in crystalline powder), it made certain to consider all factors in manufacturing to preserve the quality of the powder and deliver the best product.
Vitamin C preparation comes in several forms. The most common one is ascorbic acid which is the cheapest but has the disadvantage of being irritating to the stomach. This puts a limit to the maximum amount one can take per day. There are several non-acidic forms, but the most popular in the country is Sodium Ascorbate - which is found in every capsule of Vital C.

  • The use of vegetable capsule is the safest way to encapsulate Sodium Ascorbate crystalline powder. It produces no unwanted chemical interaction with the Sodium Ascorbate.
  • Vcaps capsules are also Kosher certified, Halal Certified and Vegetarian Society Approved.
  •
  • Veggie capsule being naturally sourced from plants maintains the Ascorbates alkalinity. The green coloring of the veggie capsule comes only from the natural color of plants.
  • Vcaps veggie capsules are also starch-free, gluten-free and preservative-free, and meet the strict dietary needs of customers that choose a vegetarian lifestyle.
Vital C is Vitamin C in Sodium Ascorbate form. Vital C is non-acidic (alkaline 7.5 to 7.8 pH), it can be taken as much as preferred, without the negative effects of highly acidic Vitamin C tablets. Vital C is 100% pure and natural, 95% absorbed by the body through the small intestines that provides anti-oxidant protection, and it comes in real Veggie Caps. Vital C, the New Face of Vitamin C is safe for babies and can be taken in mega doses for better health results.
The roles of Vitamin C in our body are so varied, that its deficiency results into most of what are now known as Chronic Degenerative Diseases (CDD).
Vital C, is the first alkaline vitamin C which is contained in real vegetable capsule. It is made from only 100% pure Sodium Ascorbate crystalline powder (USP) and encapsulated as a 568.18 mg preparation. It is processed with all the care to preserve the potency of this very effective form of Vitamin C.
Vegetable Capsule
The use of vegetable capsule is the safest way to encapsulate Sodium Ascorbate crystalline powder. It produces no unwanted chemical interaction with the Sodium Ascorbate. Gelatin encapsulation of Vitamin C results to the formation of toxic chemicals, which lessens the Ascorbates antioxidant property. Aside from these the use of vegetable capsules are also character
ized by less moisture content, consequently degrading less the Ascobate crystalline powder.
Gelatin capsules have a higher moisture content in the range of 14%, which may possibly cause a rapid deterioration of the Ascorbate powder within. The capsule being made from cellulose is not prone to bacterial deterioration, therefore, needing no artificial preservatives.
Gelatin capsules are sourced from cows or pigs, and are therefore protein in nature. Being a protein makes it susceptible to bacterial actions and therefore requires preservatives to prevent this. Veggie capsule being naturally sourced from plants maintains the Ascorbates alkalinity. The green coloring of the veggie capsule comes only from the natural color of plants.
Gelatin capsules are coated with artificial colorings, some of which have already been banned in developed countries because of their bad effects on the body. The vegetable capsule of Vital C is guaranteed as Non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organism).
The Human Need For Vitamin C
Human beings DO NOT PRODUCE their own Vitamin C, that is why we need to take it from an outside source. Vitamin C deficiency is the most common but unrecognized reason why people develop and have diseases.
Due to our present lifestyles, there is a big gap between what our body needs and the amount it is getting in terms of Vitamin C. This results in the development of more Chronic Degenerative Diseases even among the young. People, in order to attend to these health concerns are now moving away from Drug-based Therapies and more towards Natural Remedies.
The works of the great scientists like Dr. Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Dr. Linus Pauling, Dr. Matthias Rath, Dr. Irvin Stone, Dr. Frederick Robert Klenner, Dr. Robert F. Cathcart, made the world recognize the real value of vitamin C in the pursuit of health. Higher doses of Vitamin C intake is encouraged in comparison to the present Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI) and the historical Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA).
The roles of Vitamin C in our body are so varied, that its deficiency results into most of what are now known as Chronic Degenerative Diseases (CDD).
  • It is four (4) times more effective than Acidic Vitamin C tablets since it does not contain any binders; one (1) Vital C capsule (568 mg) is equivalent to twelve (12) 500 mg acidic Vitamin C tablets !!!
  • Vitamin C is the mother of all vitamins, because all other vitamins need vitamin c to work, BUT Vitamin C can work without the other vitamins. If you can only take one vitamin a day, it has to be Vitamin C.
  • It is based on the recommendations of two time Nobel Prize winner , Dr. Linus Pauling, in association with Dr. Alfred Libby.
  • Vitamin C is necessary for about 300 metabolic functions in the body. Almost all animals produce their own Vitamin C, except human beings and a few animal species.
  • Therefore, since our bodies cannot manufacture Vitamin C, we must obtain it from outside sources.
Vital C is Sodium Ascorbate Vitamin C
The GLO gene is absent in many people, scientists believe that this happened around 60 million years ago. The absence of this gene makes us unable to biosynthesise a spec
ific enzyme L- gulonolactone oxidase. This is an end stage liver enzyme that bio-converts blood glucose to Ascorbate, this means our bodies cannot produce any Ascorbate. In the long term, a lack of Ascorbate causes our bones to dissolve and teeth to fall out – in other words sub-clinical scurvy and a tendency to development of cancer.
Ascorbic Acid has mistakenly been called Vitamin C – it is actually a liver metabolite rather than a vitamin. It is produced in large quantities in almost all animals, e.g. 6 grams a day in a goat, or up to 100 grams daily if the goat is stressed. But it is not Ascorbic Acid that our body requires, rather a SALT of Ascorbic Acid. A daily supplementation of Sodium Ascorbate several times a day is a simple way to make up for this genetic defect.
Sodium Ascorbate is also essential for the hydroxylation of the amino acid Proline which forms hydroxyproline – a major component of collagen. Collagen is an essential structural protein in the body accounting for around a quarter of all the protein in our bodies and is critical to the structural integrity of our bodies.
Linus Pauling PhD (Twice Nobel Laureate) stated “It is highly probable that most people in the world would only receive 1- 2% of the amounts of Ascorbate that would keep them in the best of health”.

VITAL-C ADDRESSES THE FOLLOWING:
http://www.vital-c.com/main/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/healthBenefits.jpgDr Klenner UMD FCCP began his Ascorbate studies in the 40′s and treated 30 or 40 patients a day in North Carolina until his death in 1984, treating many degenerative diseases. He also found that treating with Ascorbate during pregnancy resulted in a much healthier mum and baby. If a mother takes high does of Ascorbate in addition to other measures such as folic acid and avoiding cigarettes and alcohol, she will deliver an extremely healthy baby and studies have shown the labour will be quicker and less painful. Giving the child 1 gram of Ascorbate per day up until the age of 10 will bypass all regular childhood diseases including measles, mumps, chicken pox etc., as well as common airborne infections.
