BORA NOON at NGAYON

B-O-R-A-C-A-Y known as the summer capital of the Philippines. who would ever thought that I could visit this so called bora place (not only once but twice) . hahaha^_^

My first visit at Boracay was last year and Just this April we came back there for a sidetrip.
Nothing really changed at boracay.... da same market, da same outdoor activities and da same SAND. hahaha. Actually, there's nothing really amazing about the scenery of boracay because their beach particularly
the sand is aint clean anymore. That makes not so attractive.

However, there are many things you can do at Boracay to have fun at DAY and NIGHT <3

exciting activities (Day and Nyt)
Last year, when we visited the place .. . we had Island Hopping and Parasailing as our Day activities and had a hang-out in the evening.. where i got a chance to dance with the fire dancers and sing along with the performers. On the other hand, we had Banana Boat and  got my First Henna  this recent visit at Boracay .

compare and contrast
before vs. now
Upper left: that was our Island Hopping last year   Upper Right: My recently bought Hat <3
Lower Left: our Banana Boat experience this April   Lower Left: Last years Hat.

So, Which year do you think is the best experience I had at Boracay ?hmmmp.

our companies
(noon at ngayon)

To be Fair, If I'll be objective to compare the two visits, I had really more experiences last years visit than this year.  And its all because we were with my BEST UNCLE, who had it all free for us. Especially, our meals...Bongang bongga lagi, Social lagi kumakain.

BUT

If I'll be subjective, aheeem... I would say that this recent VISIT was the BEST because of many new faces we had encounter and company with and it was more challenging to me that we need to be Independent on our finances and even try to engage with people that we don't know.

To sum it up,  What makes a vacation at its BEST is not really the new stuffs that we had tried for a moment or the nice place but the PEOPLE that you have met and spend your time with to make your stay an unforgettable one. As an extrovert person like me, this is what the most important thing.

XOXO

Cagatin, Nory Faith E.
Independent
ACES-Vice President

A good leader should be a good servant, competent and most of all, honest. If given a chance to be the Vice-President in the Engineering Council there are three key principles I will be holding on to in order to maintain good governance.

First, being a good servant. This means that a leader should not only be an implementer but also a follower. The members and not the officers hold the highest rank in the organization; leaders are mere servants. This is mainly because the leaders work for the benefit of the members and not for his own benefit and glory and thus a leader should always deal with all the demands of the students or the members of the organization.

Second, a leader should be competent- an expert in his field. According to engineering management, a leader should be skilful enough to lead in order for the members and his co-workers to follow him. This is because, nowadays, people are intelligent enough to demand whatever they want. Thus a good leader should have skills on how to handle these demands and most importantly, a good leader should also be emotionally and physically prepared.

Third, a leader should be honest. Being in a student council implies that people chose you because they trust you to manage them well. The trust they give includes matters pertaining to finance. Nowadays, the integrity of a student leader is not only tested by the endeavours but also by with how they deal with the council’s finances. Given a chance to lead, I will really ensure that the finances of the council will be well managed by implementing productive programs for the students development.

LIFE IS A RIVER

"We cannot control all of times of our lives however we can always develop healthy attitudes towards them. We can make our times a bit more bearable by understanding how this moment of our lives, indeed, how all the moments of our lives fit into the scheme of things."

- phrase from the book entitled "THE RIVER: Reflections on the times of our Lives"

Just last week, our SECOND SEM has come to an end. Atlast! we can finally say that my looong stressful week is over. My Second Semester has been very tough, frustrations along with the pressures have tested our determination and motivation to graduate in our course BS Electronics Engineering.

Along that battle, i keep on saying to myself to "Give your very best shot" because i believe that "What you have sow is what you could reap afterwards". I always believe that i could get what i wanted or achieve it by doing everything kung baga imply "MAGIS" of what you are doing, invest time, effort and money for the things you want to have in your life. This was really my doctrine in life that lead some to say that during the peak of our battle, i am one of the STRONGEST in the battle.

However, Live didn't response according to what i have expected. This leads me to question  many things and one of which is "What happened Lord, aren't my efforts not enough?". I seek for Justification for all of these result. Yes! i was really self-centered in evaluating stuffs and bias in comparing myself to others who made it. But i could not understand really what's the point of this.

i feel so betrayed by the world

Seriously, at that moment i could not accept it because i don't think i deserve to fail in that battle. Until now, I'm still in the process of accepting it slowly by considering the fact that " There are uncontrollable circumstances in our lives" :( Just like our Laws in our Constitution, It might be Harsh but its the LAW. Thus, all we need to do is to ACCEPT it.

Where All Ends.

"Water has a calming effect on this Rooster. Water Roosters don’t feel the need to rise above the crowd and their communication skills are more refined. Forever energetic and extremely detail-oriented, these Roosters can benefit from staying more focused on the end result rather than the minute details."

Since I was young I always believe in this horoscope. I am a Water Rooster gal, was born on year 1993.

In 2012, a Year of Rooster person is said to be the STAR of the year. Thus, I'm very confident that 2012 will be an easy year for me and I could get everything I wanted. Fortunately, my 2012 started really good that made me said maybe the horoscope is right. However, not all things turn out to be as good as I expected. In 2012, i had many flaws and been through hardship.

Goodbye 18

I'm now savoring my last hour of being 18.
My 18th year has been so challenging to me.

Allow me to share to you how  it started and will end.

Just like other GALS, turning 18 or as famously known as "Debut" is the most special birthday for the girls because it is the turning point of your teenage life. I dunno why.

so, i celebrated it as luxury as we had.
Hurot2x kwarta sakong pamilya jud, just to realize the so called debut tradition.

I even created a twist of that ceremony like using orchids as alternative of the 18 roses. on the other hand, 18 helium Balloons were used as replacement of 18 candles.

Aftermath, i had my first ever night life i may say.
It started last October 16, 2011

Since then, i used to hang-out with my friends at night.

This year, i would say that I'm beginning to stay late at downtown than usual.
Though my parents would not tolerate me doing such activity, i still continue. hahahah.
I can't even count with my fingers how many times I got home in the morning.

But aside from having night life, my other reason of staying late at the downtown is my responsibilities at school.   that's a good , right? :)

hmmp! so what else new to me in my 18th year?

aha! one of my memorable experience also was my SUMMER 2012.
As usual, i wasn't able to spend my summer in relaxing in a vacation.

Fortunately, i was invited in this LEADERSHIP CAMP

because of this i had a very fruitful summer.
on the other hand, my tito treated us a short vacation at BORACAY before my summer class :)

to make this blog short.
to sum it up, i also had many self proclaim achievements in my 18th year.

I would not discuss it one by one here but for I'm satisfied and contented already of what i got in this year and still counting for my blessings.

forever thankful for my family, friends and my only bestfriend my GOD.
 Our Savior, Jesus Christ.

- Sincerely yours;
Nory Faith Elago Cagatin

HULING SAYAW

HULING SAYAW

DANCESPORT , is a ballroom competition of Modern Standard and Latin dance. Every year, It is one of the most awaited events of Intramurals in Xavier University. It is usually held on the Closing Ceremony of the Intrams.

Ever since I started dancing, it is my ambition to compete and experience this kind of dance. Enable to compete in this kind of dance i must say is a greatest satisfaction of a dancer. wanna know why? because dancesport is for unusual dancer only.  Not everyone knows how to dance this because of its hardness and elegance that's why this kind of dance is only for a competition or in an elegant parties.

It requires patience, discipline and dedication in order to perform this.

September 15, 2012 is the Dancesport competition.

We started practicing 6 days before that competition.
To be honest, it was my worst performance ever in my life. I actually, don't want to perform in that competition if not because for the sake of the Engineering Community.

I signed up Dancesport during the Intramural recruitment in College of Engineering. Together with my Original Partner, we were so excited to dance and compete in the LATIN category.
However, due to my commitments and academics conflict I decided to back out and turn over my partner to another interested girl who is more talented than me.:)  Of course, it is hard for me at first because giving up is really not my attitude but that dilemma was again about choosing between my responsibilities over my passion.

Then, a week before the competition i received a call from my previous partner. Encouraging me to join again but this time in the Modern Standard Category. After a call, many text messages were sent to me pleasing me to continue the battle because they need an entry for that category and there's a big chance of winning in that category because there were 2 entries only.
But waittt....how about the budget? The good news was the mentor also texted me offering his free P.F. for us. So, in that case, i decided to take the risk in joining back.
I was partnered with a 3rd year student and we really did our best to catch up with the steps. Given with 5 days remaining before the competition we really need to double time.

But everything wasn't easy for us. There was time that i felt really bad and pity on myself because we were treated unjust with the other maybe because we are not paying any cent for them. In the end, I found myself crying before the performance because i feel cheated. I don't know what to do already if i will continue to perform given with the fact nga "MAULAW" nako:(

but i still continue ..... and Got the expected 3rd place.

To be fair, i would not say that i regret it because in sum I have learned new dance and gained new experience. More importantly, i got a chance to meet these talented people.

Also, I'm thankful that I have been a student of  Sir Jo and Maam Malou who are famous sa arangan ng  Dancesport .

two points I would not forget from them is that;

"Dance like a swan as if its your last dance." (Sir Jo)
and
"Dance with your Heart not with your Mind" (Maam Malou)
